St. Matthew Parish Tuition Assistance
Instructions 2023-2024
Scholarships and tuition assistance are available to help send your children to St. Matthew School and the High School of St. Thomas More! Applying for tuition assistance is a two-step process. Please follow the instructions below.
Step one: Empower Illinois Invest in Kids Scholarships
Empower Illinois scholarships are funded through Illinois tax credit donations that are designated to St. Matthew School. Before applying for parish or diocesan tuition assistance, families need to first apply for Empower. Scholarships are awarded on a first come, first served basis so apply as soon as possible!
Applications open January 18 at 6:30 pm. Go to empowerillinois.org/apply to apply. Contact Stephanie Goebel in the school office (sgoebel@stmatt.net) with questions.
Step Two: Apply for Parish and Diocesan Tuition Assistance
Apply for Parish Tuition Assistance and the Diocesan Spalding Scholarship at the same time using the steps below by the April 28th deadline.
- Complete the FACTS Grant and Aid application online at: online.factsmgt.com/. Be sure to select the appropriate school for each student (HSTM or St. Matthew Grade School).
- Pay the $40 FACTS application fee.
- Submit 2022 tax documents to FACTS
- (HSTM Applicants only) Complete and submit online a Parish Involvement Form by April 28th. This form is for families with students only at HSTM.
Note: There is no need to submit a request for the pastor recommendation for the Spalding Scholarship. Applicant names from the completed FACTS applications will be used for this request.
NOTES:
Any applications received past the above deadlines will not be able to be considered for Tuition Assistance.
All students are eligible to apply for Empower Illinois Scholarship but only registered and active parishioners of St. Matthew Parish will be considered for parish tuition assistance or Spalding Scholarships.
