Scholarships and tuition assistance are available to help send your children to St. Matthew School and the High School of St. Thomas More! Applying for tuition assistance is a two-step process. Please follow the instructions below.
Step one: Empower Illinois Invest in Kids Scholarships
Empower Illinois offers Tax Credit scholarship opportunities that are funded through donations that give the donor an Illinois tax credit. All families seeking tuition assistance should first apply for an Empower Illinois Scholarship. Apply at empowerillinois.org/apply beginning January 13th at 6:30 pm. **Apply as early as possible; scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Step Two: Apply for Parish and Diocesan Tuition Assistance
Registered St. Matthew families with students attending St. Matthew School or the High School of St. Thomas More can apply for Parish Tuition Assistance and the Diocesan Spalding Scholarship at the same time using the FACTS Grant and Aid application by the April 30th deadline. The FACTS online application and other instructions are available now! Click here and scroll down for the tuition assistance information. There is no need to submit a separate request for the Pastor Recommendation for the Spalding Scholarship. Applicant names from the completed FACTS applications will be used for this request.
Any applications received past the above deadlines will not be able to be considered for Tuition Assistance.
All students are eligible to apply for Empower Illinois Scholarship but only registered and active parishioners of St. Matthew Parish will be considered for parish tuition assistance or Spalding Scholarships.
