Stewardship

A steward is someone who is entrusted to care for something that belongs to someone else. As Catholics, we believe that everything we have is a gift that God has entrusted to us for a time. Thus we speak of stewardship as our offering back to God that which ultimately belongs to Him.

We often speak of three primary areas from which we give: our time, our talent, and our treasure. At different stages in life, our capacity to give in each of these areas will fluctuate, but we should always be discerning the ways that God is calling us to be generous in each of these categories.
