Empower Illinois scholarships are funded through Illinois tax credit donations that are designated to St. Matthew School.  Before applying for parish or diocesan tuition assistance, families need to first apply for Empower.  Scholarships are awarded on a first come, first served basis so apply as soon as possible!

Applications open January 18 at 6:30 pm.   Go to empowerillinois.org/apply to apply.  Contact Stephanie Goebel in the school office (sgoebel@stmatt.net) with questions.

Apply for Parish Tuition Assistance and the Diocesan Spalding Scholarship at the same time using the steps below by the April 28th deadline.

1.  Complete the FACTS Grant and Aid application online at: online.factsmgt.com/.  Be sure to select the appropriate school for each student (HSTM or St. Matthew Grade School).
2. Pay the $40 FACTS application fee.
3. Submit 2022 tax documents to FACTS
4. (HSTM Applicants only) Complete and submit online a Parish Involvement Form by April 28th.  This form is for families with students only at HSTM.

Note:  There is no need to submit a request for the pastor recommendation for the Spalding Scholarship.  Applicant names from the completed FACTS applications will be used for this request.
