The entire Champaign-Urbana Catholic Community was saddened yesterday to hear of the passing of one of it’s most influential and faithful members, Monsignor Albert W. Hallin, P.A. passed away on Monday, August 26th. He was a former pastor of St. Matthew, Holy Cross, St. Boniface, St. Joseph (Ivesdale) and had deep roots in the Champaign-Urbana area as one of the driving forces behind the creation of The High School of St. Thomas More, Vicar Forane of the Champaign Vicariate, and in his later priesthood served as an assistant chaplain at St. John’s Newman Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Holy Cross Church, Champaign. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm also at Holy Cross. Please remember him in your prayers.
