Invest in Kids Scholarships

New for 2018-19, scholarships are funded through an Illinois tax credit.  Families are encouraged to apply for Invest in Kids scholarship before applying for other tuition assistance. 

Apply at, starting February 27.  Apply as early as possible; scholarships are awarded on a first come first served basis. 

Application Checklist
     •  Proof of income (2016 or 2017 tax return)
     •  Proof of Illinois residency (Driver’s license, utility bill, W-2)
     •  For students entering kindergarten and 1st grade – documentation of student’s age (birth 
         certificate, passport)

Diocese of Peoria Spalding Scholarship & Parish Tuition Assistance

Apply for the Spalding Scholarship and Parish Tuition at the same time using the FACTS Grant and Aid application by the April 15th deadline.  Applicants’ names from the completed FACTS applications will be used for consideration for the pastor recommendations to the Diocese for the Spalding Scholarship. A separate Pastor Recommendation form is not required this year.  St. Thomas More applicants need to complete a Volunteer Hours Form (submit online). 

To apply for the Spalding Scholarship & parish tuition assistance, complete the following steps by April 15:

        1. Complete FACTS application at:
            Note: Select the appropriate school for each student (HSTM or St. Matthew Grade School). 
        2.  Pay $30 FACTS application fee. 
        3.  Submit 2017 tax documents to FACTS. 
        4.  (HSTM Applicants) Also complete and submit online Volunteer Hours Form by April 15. 
               This includes families with students at both HSTM and St. Matthew Grade School.

Any applications received past the above deadlines will not be able to be considered for Tuition Assistance. 

Note: All students are eligible to apply for Empower Illinois Scholarship but only registered and active parishioners of St. Matthew Parish will be considered for parish tuition assistance.
