Helping Children Grow in Faith
CCD (which stands for Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) offers the opportunity for the children of St. Matthew Parish to learn more about their Catholic faith in order to deepen their relationship with Jesus and prepare to receive the sacraments.

Philosophy of CCD Program
The Religious Education Programs of St. Matthew Parish are based on the understanding that “the purpose of catechesis is to make a person’s faith become living, conscious, and active through the light of instruction” (National Directory for Catechesis, 32).
The scope of the elementary curriculum for our CCD program includes an understanding of Scripture, doctrine, liturgy, and the life of the Church. This curriculum provides the opportunity to share in the sacramental life of the Church and to transmit the rich heritage of the faith.
The catechist proclaims the Gospel message with respect for the uniqueness of each individual as an image of God, within an atmosphere that fosters love of God and love of neighbor, and strives to teach the faith through Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
